Starting next month, Subway are planning to change the way they arrange the cheese on their sandwiches in stores worldwide. They hilariously describe this as a change in ‘cheese tessellation’, prompted by a campaign from die-hard sandwich fans in Australia and New Zealand.
For those not normal people familiar with this particular sandwich debate, the problem is that the cheese triangles in Subway sandwiches is currently overlapped instead of being (snigger) ‘appropriately tessellated’. This causes uneven cheesy distribution for the scoffer – a nightmare indeed.
Changes in cheese placement policy have now been implemented in Canada and Australia, possibly to be introduced throughout the rest of the world.
Note: this isn’t a joke, The Independent ran a story on it.
